Bio
TRUMYSTIC: Hip hop to future-funk; blending roots and reggae
with jungle and dub; not soul - but from the soul; pop
sensibility with a "who gives a @$%!" attitude; vocal and
passionate, no matter what they bring to the table, it comes
from the heart. Their performances blend samples and live
music seamlessly. TRUMYSTIC brings the boom to sonic boom as
they tear the roof off the room.
This collision of styles and talent has afforded TRUMYSTIC
opportunities in their hometown of NYC, all over the U.S.,
Europe, and Japan. Playing with performers such as Jimmy
Cliff, Black-Eyed Peas, Culture, Cypress Hill, Talvin Singh,
GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, Roni Size, Jungle Brothers, The
Roots, Orange 9mm, Ja Shaka and Zion Train. They have rocked
the crowds at such well known venues as Bowery Ballroom &
Irving Plaza (NYC), Blue Note(London), and Liquid Room
(Japan). TRUMYSTIC has toured Europe and even been a featured
act in the Trans Musicales Festival (Rennes, France), the
Essential Music Festival (London), and the Montreaux Jazz
Festival (Switzerland). They have also had their music
featured in films like "The Substitute II" and "Public Enemy
The Movie". They have proven their public appeal with radio
singles such as "Down Together" (Trumystic: "Product 3), "Can
You Dig It" (Brooklyn Beat Rockers: Episode I), "Living in
Brooklyn" (Soothsayer: "Zen Turtle) and others from the core
of music that is TRUMYSTIC.
Band
TRUMYSTIC is a six piece band. It is the creative
collaboration of three main forces: Mistaish, the tallest MC
and the main beat dropper, always brings the bacon to the
griddle; the growl to the sizzle. Usually standing in the back
and drawing the party to the front. Kirsty Rock slices through
the melodies like electricity on water. Both her lyrics and
her vocals range from the sweet melody of angels to the
cynicism of sinners, touching everywhere in between.
Soothsayer has the smooth flow of smoke on a cloudless night,
streams of dub consciousness on the bass as well as the mic.
The mic, the mix, he gives it all a little twist.
On the Block
TRUMYSTIC is hitting the streets with an aggressive touring
campaign to support the next incarnation, their latest
recorded creation, Current Master.
The long awaited, soon to be debated... joy to the world.
Brooklyn has invaded. Pervaded with positivity, still holding
a finger to the hated. Bubbling up from the underground and
shooting straight to the sky. A blend of styles and
personalities that mystify.
Wherever TRUMYSTIC goes, audience reaction is always the same:
"They just rock."
No other description is needed. Come find out what the fuss is
all about at the next show. You just gotta go.
